The figures are for a private buyer with car-carrier delivery to Almaty. For other cities and shipping methods they will change — the calculator recalculates them in a second.

Why an EV wins at customs

Look at the first two rows of the table. The Arrizo 8 is ₽298,000 cheaper than the Dolphin in China, but turnkey the gap shrinks to ₽141,000. The reason is customs: in our calculation electric cars pay 6% of their value, while cars with a combustion engine pay a duty based on engine size or value.

What to choose

• BYD Dolphin — a new city hatchback with 520 km of range and the lowest consumption on the list, 13.2 kWh per 100 km.
• Geely Galaxy E5 — a new crossover with 530 km of range and 10–80% charging in 20 minutes. Currently to order.
• XPeng G6 — the most powerful here: 218 kW, 580 km and charging at up to 280 kW. A low-mileage car.
• BYD Song Plus DM-i — a hybrid for those without a charger: fuel use of about 3.9 l per 100 km.
• Leapmotor C10 — a new EREV with 210 km on electricity and a generator for long trips.
• Chery Arrizo 8 — the most affordable option: a familiar petrol sedan with a 1.6-litre turbo engine.

How to narrow it down

Start with charging. If you can charge at home, an electric car in this budget gets you a new car and lower customs costs. If you have no charger or often travel far, look at a hybrid or an EREV. A petrol sedan makes sense when the lowest entry price matters most.
