Li Auto L7 or Zeekr 7X: a family SUV from China

A large EREV with a generator against an 800-volt electric SUV: we compare size, energy, charging and the turnkey price — a gap of over ₽1,490,000.

The Li L7 and the Zeekr 7X are often weighed against each other: both are five-seat family SUVs with all-wheel drive, air suspension and rich equipment. But they are built differently. The L7 is an EREV whose petrol engine works as a generator. The 7X is a pure electric car on an 800-volt architecture. Let us compare the cars in our catalog.

Energy and charging

The main difference is where the car gets its energy. The L7 covers 210 km on its battery, then the generator starts and the car runs on petrol at about 7.6 l per 100 km. It does not need charging. The 7X depends entirely on charging, but its 100 kWh battery gives 705 km on the CLTC cycle and charges in 11 minutes at an ultra-fast station.

If you live in a city with home charging and rarely travel far, both cars will run mostly on electricity, and the 7X will be the more economical: 16.9 kWh per 100 km against 21.5 kWh for the L7. If long motorway trips with sparse chargers are routine, the L7 is the calmer choice.

Size and comfort

The L7 is noticeably bigger: 263 mm longer, wider and taller, with 180 mm of clearance against 165 mm. You feel it in the back seat and the boot. Both SUVs have air suspension, a heat pump, heated and ventilated seats, a head-up display and a power tailgate. The L7 adds a heated steering wheel.

Price and customs

The price gap in China is ₽1,030,000, and turnkey to Almaty it grows to almost ₽1,510,000. The reason is customs: an EREV counts as a combustion-engine car, and the L7’s customs payment in our calculation is ₽655,000. The 7X, as an electric car, pays the 6% rate, which comes to ₽223,000.

Which to choose

  • Li L7 — if space, independence from chargers and frequent intercity trips matter most.
  • Zeekr 7X — if you have home charging, want a new car and care about the final price: turnkey it is more than ₽1,490,000 cheaper.

The calculator prices both cars for your city. If you need a different version or year, send a sourcing request.
