Geely Monjaro: what an owner should know

Two versions in our catalog, winter, servicing and parts priced to Almaty — practical notes on Geely’s petrol SUV.

The Geely Monjaro is a 4.77-metre petrol SUV on the CMA platform, which Geely shares with Volvo. It suits buyers who want a familiar car with no charging, but with premium-level equipment. Here is what is worth knowing before you buy and in the first years of ownership.

Two versions in our catalog

Both have the same engine; the difference is drive and equipment. The Flagship adds lane keeping, ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display and wireless charging. All-wheel drive adds half a litre to fuel use, but in winter and on dirt roads it is clearly more useful.

Winter

A petrol car has none of the winter issues electric-car owners know: the cabin is heated by the engine, and range barely depends on the frost. With 200 mm of clearance, uncleared yards are no trouble. Heated seats come on both versions, a heated wheel only on the Flagship. If you live where snow lies for months, all-wheel drive is worth the extra.

For a fuel budget: at 8.4 l per 100 km the all-wheel-drive version uses about 840 litres of petrol per 10,000 km, the front-wheel-drive one at 7.9 l about 790 litres. In winter and city traffic consumption will be above the official figure; on an even motorway it will be closer to it.

Servicing and parts

The two-litre Drive-E turbo engine needs ordinary servicing: oil and filters on schedule, spark plugs, brake fluid and coolant. Genuine parts for the 2024–2026 Monjaro are in our catalog, priced to Almaty:

PartOEM numberDeliveredAvailability
Oil filter, 2.0TGLY-1012010-JL₽4,390in stock, 14 days
Front shock absorberGLY-2905100-MJ₽24,600to order, 28 days
Right tail lampGLY-4133200-MJ₽37,500in stock, 21 days

For a 2023 car, check compatibility by VIN: the parts in our catalog are matched to 2024–2026 cars, and some may not fit earlier ones. Choose consumables — oil, coolant, brake fluid — by the specifications in the owner’s manual.

What to check when buying used

  1. Service history: for a turbo engine, regular oil changes matter more than mileage.
  2. How the transmission works, and no fault codes at diagnosis.
  3. The suspension: shock absorbers are among the parts that take longest to order.
  4. That the VIN matches the documents, and the decoded version.

We check these points when we inspect a car before purchase. The calculator shows the exact price of both versions for your city.
