The key figures

For a car almost 4.8 metres long that is a lot of power: 475 kW and all-wheel drive. Yet consumption of 16.9 kWh per 100 km is on a par with noticeably lighter sedans, and the 100 kWh battery gives one of the longest ranges in our catalog.

800 volts: where it pays off

The 7X’s main technical argument is its 800-volt architecture. On a 480 kW charger the battery goes from 10 to 80% in 11 minutes. A higher voltage delivers the same power with less current, so cables and battery heat up less.

If you mostly charge at home, that is no drawback: a big battery and efficiency matter more than peak power. And a CLTC range of 705 km leaves a good reserve even after allowing for motorway driving and winter.
